Ordered the console safe for My 2013 Tacoma. Out of the box the install took about 30 min. Was easy to install. If you have a pick-up you know there is no good place to secure your valuables. This safe is that place. Safe uses every bit of available space. Excellent product, couldnt be happier.

This console safe is very sturdy and secure. I installed it in about 20 minutes with a Phillips head screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver (only needed that to pop the side hinge covers off quickly) and a 10mm socket with extension. Fit is very good in the main rectangular part of the console, but there is a slight gap between the console and the passenger side flange (on the hinge side of the console) that results in a little bit of lost space. My folded up eyeglasses slid down into the gap and I needed to take the console lid off again to retrieve them. A minor irritant, but something I feel can be improved in the future for this particular model. Overall though, I'm very happy with the console safe.

The product does exactly what it is advertised to do. The installation instructions could be a little clearer and the vault could be a little tighter "glove" fit (utilize all available space in the console - one of my firearms does not fit well inside the safe but does in the console without the safe), but I am very pleased with the safe and would recommend it to anyone needing a way to safeguard their firearm(s) and/or valuables in their vehicle.

This safe was simplistic in its installation and is a well-crafted and solid safe. I would recommend to anyone who carries, but can't carry everywhere. The piece of mind I have now when I am forced to leave my gun in my truck is well worth the money I paid for the safe.

The fit and finish of the console locker is very good in my 2008. It seems secure, no detectable movement. Very happy I installed it.

The instructions miss one detail, you have to remove the cover under the lid, then remove the lid from the hinge and finally also remove the hinge from the console to get the locker in. It's not hard to figure out by any stretch, though.

It would handy to be able to unlock the box and leave it unlocked while in the vehicle. I haven't looked to see if the spring in the hinge could be removed, but I got the keyed lock option and the key doesn't come out with it unlocked, so it's not really possible anyway. That might be the only improvement I could see doing.

Exactly what I was looking for to secure carry gun and other small items. Even though shipping isn't free still a better price equipped and shipped than competition. Construction is top notch. Only improvement would be some sort of cushion for the bottom but I guess I can fab something pretty easily.

I ordered the safe online from the site. It arrived in a few days. I had a question about the unit and called the customer service #. The gentleman was eager to help and provided excellent assistance to me. The install was simple. I removed the console armrest and bracket just as shown. The safe fit perfectly. I ordered the 4 combo lock option in order to keep the safe in the ready for quick access,to open with the twist of a knob. From other reviews I have read, the key prevents the closure of the armrest if left in the cylinder . Overall the safe is nice and doesn't rattle while I drive. The con to this would be the cut down of storage space, but I am happy to sacrifice this if it allows the safe transport of my sidearm both on duty and off. I suggest an under seat safe if you are looking to hold on to storage space in the console, but if you are looking for quick access get the console unit. Hope this review was helpful.

Ordered one of these for my 2005 Tacoma after seeing one reviewed on a forum.

Overall, very easy to install, took 15-20 minutes, and it was finished. The internal area of the console is reduced slightly, but this is mainly due to the non-square shape of the console. I think they did really well utilizing all the available space. I am able to fit my CCW, flashlight, wallet, batteries, and several other small items inside, without it being full. I also installed a battery powered, motion activated LED light that magnetically attaches to the safe to provide light in the dark.

The keypad on the electronic lock was rotated at a 90 degree angle when I got it. This made using the keypad a little difficult, b/c the numbers were sideways. I just mentioned this to the owner, and he said that he was expecting a shipment of landscape keypads, and would send me one. I got it a few days later, and installed it, and now it's prefect.

I will buy another when I get a different vehicle.

With all the car burglaries going on across the country by mostly juveniles I wanted to have an extra layer of security besides my auto theft alarm system, now I have some peace of mind while out and about. I've been trying to determine a way to secure my 9mm in my vehicle and stumbled across Lockerdown on the Tacoma forum. I ordered on Thursday and it was here on Saturday. Only took me 20 minutes to install. The bulk of the time was culling all the stuff in the center console. Very happy with the installation. Feel much more at ease knowing my weapon will be as safe as reasonably possible.
