The LD2048 Model console safe from Lock’er Down is designed to fit the 2010 to 2024 Toyota 4Runner. Specifically for the Electronic lock option on this console safe, there is a removable tissue holder that must be removed in order to use this lock option.

I have always been careful when it comes to securing my guns! I realized though I wasn't doing enough the day my 6 year old noticed where I kept my concealed gun in the car! That exact day I purchased a Lock'er Down Vault for my 4Runner! Not only was it easiest thing to install, but now I know my little ones will not be able to get to my gun! I installed my Lock'er Down during a commercial break and still had time to have a beer and admire my handiwork before the show started again.
This could not have gone any easier or smoother, which means you have no reason to not buy a Lock'er Down. It came well-packaged and is very sturdy. I'll gladly do future business with Lock'er Down and I will refer my friends and family. I see mine getting a lot of use holding my valuables when I'm at the beach or on a hike.

This safe is easy to install and very well made.
However, it would be great if they offered a second design where the 12V power would be available outside of the safe rather than inside the safe.
I do not want to lock anything in a safe that is powered up or charging.
Still, I highly recommend this safe for your 4Runner.

Great order processing and quick shipping.
Installation couldn't be easier by following the video posted on the item's page. Changing the combo lock setting and install took all of about five minutes. Fits like an OEM part.
Happy to report that the neither the unit itself nor the contents rattled after a maiden voyage up and down rutted gravel roads in our semi-rural area.
Purchase with confidence.
It may not be perfect protection, nothing is, but it's reasonably priced insurance and peace of mind when you need to temporarily secure your belongings or firearms away from home.

I like the ease of installation and how well it fits in the console. I was not happy losing my coin organizer but I can live with it as long as my weapon is secure. I am pleases with the product and now all I have to do is figure out how to mound my pistol in the safe so its not just banging around in there. maybe a magnet or something. I love the product and would recommend to anyone who is interested.

Pros: Very high quality construction, with nice clean welds, bends, and finishes. Made of thick gauge steel that would be very difficult to get through quickly. Some features were well thought out, such as an access hole for the power port. Reasonable price overall.
However....
Cons: The high-security Abloy lock will not allow the key to be removed in the unlocked position, which is not practical. The lid should be able to close in the unlocked position. What good is it to have a weapon in the vehicle while you're driving if you have to fumble with a key or lock to grab it? Most serious gun owners know that if a weapon is needed, you need to access it very quickly. The electronic lock would be an option except in the event of an EMP, which could kill the lock. If an EMP event occurred, that's a situation that you probably need access to your weapon. So I opted for a high security key option that would be reliable in any situation.
I even called Abloy to see if an alternate could be found so I could replace it myself, and they said they do not have one. Surely someone makes a high-security cam lock with a key that is removable in the unlocked position?
The safe could be used with the lock enabled while the door is open, then allowing the console door to hold it closed with the lock above the retention slot. However, there isn't enough room with the tissue box holder in the way. The safe could have been designed to be just a little shorter and accommodate the tissue box holder using the safe this way.
I ended up removing the tissue box holder (which I actually wanted to keep using), just to provide enough room to put the lock in a locked position with the door open, remove the key, and close the console lid. Not a very elegant solution but I guess it works.
Summary: The construction is top notch quality. With a bit more thought about real-world use, this would be a fantastic product.

I got the 4runner safe with the seven sided keys. The Construction,fit,and finish is excellent. I drilled a hole for charging cable with rubber grommet. I cut the tab off of the keys and made a swivel tab to hold the door down when unlocked. Now it's perfect.
