The LD3012 Model Long Gun Safe by Lock'er Down is designed to fit the 2005 to 2021 Toyota Tacoma's. This safe was designed to fit in the rear behind the row of seats. However, this item WILL NOT FIT THE MODEL VEHICLE IF THE VEHICLE HAS A SUBWOOFER BEHIND THE REAR SEAT!.

I installed this safe in my access cab tacoma. Please note:
***This safe is NOT designed for the access cab! But I made it work anyways.***
As a result, my installation required a bit more effort than normal, I had to remove the jump seats, drill my own mounting holes in the safe, and redo the insulation and upholstry after installation (there are no more rear jump seats in my truck, just a cargo area). It was well worth the effort though. The overall shape of this safe fits snugly against/inside the rear wall of the cab, making it look like part of the wall once the upholstry was redone. I'd imagine the fit is even better when installed in the version of the truck it's actually designed for, plus it would be 100% hidden by the full size rear seats. The construction quality is excellent - thick steel plates, good welds, basically no play in the hinge and lock, great powder coating, etc. The combination of the build quality and how it sits in the truck gives great peace of mind when storing "valuable" items inside. Potential thieves wouldn't know the safe is there in the first place, and if they somehow found it, they would need a powerful angle grinder and probably an hour or more to break in. That level of security is very hard to find in vehicle storage solutions. The company was good to work with as well, they were responsive to my emails. Overall I don't think I have a single complaint about this safe, yes it's expensive but in this case it's money well spent. If you're on the fence or looking at a competitor, I'd say go with this one.
